Finding Home at Carmel
When I was the age of nine, my brother brought me to church to attend Sunday School. At that time, I didn't really know much about our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. I attended church services for only a short period of time. After that, I did not attend church services anymore for a long time. In 1993 at the age of twenty-four, my grandmother and my dad passed away within three days of each other. It was a huge pain for my mother who lost two of her dearest kin. She s

God’s timely intervention
One day, I faced a sudden dental problem that caused me a lot of pain and worry. One of my dental crowns chipped off, leaving a gap in my tooth. The discomfort was sharp and persistent, making it hard to focus on anything else. When I visited my dentist, I was told I might need a new crown, which could cost $1,500 or more. That was a heavy financial burden to consider. Dental crown with a chip, showing the need for timely dental care Seeking affordable care Knowing the cost w

A God Who Understands
Early on Easter morning, at 4:30 a.m., my mum had a serious fall. She hit the back of her head and suffered internal bleeding. The shock of the moment was overwhelming, but thankfully, she had no other injuries—no fractures, cuts, or broken bones. We rushed her to the Emergency Department at Changi Hospital, where she was admitted for observation and scans. By the time she was admitted, my sister and I had just enough time to change and head to church. My sister was scheduled

God is Love!
Sometimes, we all feel unsure about ourselves, especially when we worry that our words or actions might hurt others. Last week, my mom shared with me how she struggled with this feeling. She felt sinful because she was too straightforward at times and feared she might have offended people. This made her hesitant to join activities, worried she might say the wrong thing again. She prayed for forgiveness and asked God not to 撇开她 (desert her). What happened next was truly touchi

Invisible Protector
A Childhood Shaped by Words I have always been fat. My neck could not be seen as a kid. Thanks to my mother who is a fantastic cook, I fell in love with food ever since I was a child. Sadly, because of my weight, I was often teased. I remember being targeted during my rides to school or back home on the school bus. As a child, any form of teasing affected me quite badly. Tears in the Dark One night, as I teared up thinking of what the kids on the school bus would do to me the

My Journey with god
Growing up, I never imagined the path my life would take. My early years were steeped in tradition and ritual, yet it was a quiet, unexpected encounter with God that began to change everything. This is my story of faith, struggle, and grace—a journey that led me from the familiar smells of incense to the profound peace of knowing Christ. Growing Up in a Traditional Home I was born in 1980 in Singapore, into a family deeply rooted in Taoist and Buddhist traditions. Our home wa
