Early on Easter morning, at 4:30 a.m., my mum had a serious fall. She hit the back of her head and suffered internal bleeding. The shock of the moment was overwhelming, but thankfully, she had no other injuries—no fractures, cuts, or broken bones. We rushed her to the Emergency Department at Changi Hospital, where she was admitted for observation and scans.

By the time she was admitted, my sister and I had just enough time to change and head to church. My sister was scheduled to speak at the Easter service, and I was leading worship that morning. Despite the chaos, God’s timing was perfect. We were able to serve as planned, trusting that He was watching over my mum.

Trusting God in the Midst of Crisis

When something unexpected like this happens, fear and worry can easily take over. But through this experience, I saw how God understands our concerns deeply. He knows our fears and the weight of uncertainty we carry when a loved one is hurt.

We witnessed His protection firsthand. The fact that my mum avoided further injuries was a clear sign of His care. Internal bleeding is serious, but within a week, God brought healing to her body. The doctors monitored her closely, but the recovery was steady and encouraging.

Finding Strength in Faith and Family

This situation reminded me how important it is to lean on faith and family during difficult times. My sister and I had responsibilities that morning, yet we were united in prayer and hope for our mum’s recovery. The church community also offered support and encouragement, which lifted our spirits.

Here are some practical lessons I learned:

  • Stay calm and act quickly: Getting my mum to the hospital promptly made a difference.

  • Trust God’s timing: Even when things seem uncertain, He knows the perfect moment for everything.

  • Support each other: Lean on family and friends for strength and comfort.

  • Keep faith alive: Prayer and worship can bring peace amid chaos.

A Heart Full of Gratitude

Looking back, I am deeply grateful for God’s care and faithfulness. He protected my mum from worse harm and guided us through a challenging morning. This experience strengthened my faith and reminded me that God truly understands our struggles and walks with us through them.
