Finding Home at Carmel

When I was the age of nine, my brother brought me to church to attend Sunday School. At that time, I didn't really know much about our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. I attended church services for only a short period of time. After that, I did not attend church services anymore for a long time.
In 1993 at the age of twenty-four, my grandmother and my dad passed away within three days of each other. It was a huge pain for my mother who lost two of her dearest kin. She suffered a mental breakdown and almost went insane. The church pastor came to our place to pray for my mum and the Holy Spirit gave her peace and removed her sorrow. I saw how the Lord worked in my mother’s life. She started to attend church services and was baptised a year later.
In March 2020, my mother was called Home to be with the Lord. Once again, I decided to attend church services, but only occasionally. In April this year, sister Yvonne invited me to attend Carmel Presbyterian Church. Later, I also attended Hosea Cell Group until now. I may still be wandering around if sister Yvonne did not invite me to church.
Through church gatherings and cell group meetings, I got to know more about Jesus Christ. Also, the pandemic and the war situation made me realise the urgency of the times. Therefore, I decided to be baptised.
So, I encourage everyone, who may have friends who are wandering around like me, to invite them to church.
…“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out more workers into his harvest field.” Matt 9:37
