Sometimes, we all feel unsure about ourselves, especially when we worry that our words or actions might hurt others. Last week, my mom shared with me how she struggled with this feeling. She felt sinful because she was too straightforward at times and feared she might have offended people. This made her hesitant to join activities, worried she might say the wrong thing again. She prayed for forgiveness and asked God not to 撇开她 (desert her). What happened next was truly touching and reminded me deeply that God is love.
A Personal Story of God’s Assurance
One morning, my mom woke up and found a used envelope on her table. She usually keeps some envelopes there to scribble notes. On this particular envelope, printed clearly, was the message:
“Jesus loves you, Yew Siok Chin.”
She was so surprised and deeply touched by this. It felt like a miracle, a direct message from God assuring her that she is loved and treasured. Later that day, when she tried to find the envelope again, it was gone. This made the moment even more special, as if God wanted to remind her personally that she is never alone, no matter how she feels inside.
Why This Matters to Us
This story shows how God knows our hearts better than anyone else. When we feel insecure or down, God understands our struggles and thoughts. Just like a loving parent who comforts a child, God offers us reassurance and love. Sometimes, we might doubt ourselves or feel unworthy, but God’s love remains constant and true.
Here are some ways to remember God’s love in our daily lives:
Pray honestly about your feelings and struggles. God listens and cares.
Look for small signs of encouragement around you. They might come in unexpected ways.
Trust that God never deserts us, even when we feel alone or unlovable.
Speak kindly to yourself as God speaks kindly to you.
Share your story with others to encourage them with God’s love.
Living with God’s Love Every Day
God’s love is not just a feeling; it’s a powerful force that can change how we see ourselves and others. When we accept that God loves us unconditionally, we can live with more confidence and kindness. My mom’s experience reminds me that even when we make mistakes or feel unsure, God’s love is a steady anchor.
If you ever feel like my mom did, remember this: God knows you deeply and loves you just as you are. You are treasured and never forgotten.
Let this story inspire you to open your heart to God’s love today. Reach out in prayer, look for His signs, and let His love fill your life with peace and joy.
